Longi Solar has launched a brand-new series of solar modules and introduced its “hybrid back-contact” cell technology. The new Hi-MO 7 series will initially be available in four different formats, primarily designed for rooftop solar power plants.
The LR8-66HGD-615 bifacial monocrystalline solar panel is used in grid-connected, hybrid, or off-grid solar power systems. It has a power output of 610 W, which is a very high figure for 2025. The solar panel’s efficiency is very high at 22.6% when paired with an inverter, allowing it to be effectively used to generate revenue under the “green tariff” or for off-grid power supply.
This model is constructed using the finest materials and components available in the photovoltaic market. 132 high-quality silicon cells are mounted in a 30mm-thick composite alloy frame, arranged in 22 rows. Converting the sun’s energy into direct current with a maximum voltage of 40.51 V and a current of 15.06 A, they generate minimal heat, thereby increasing the efficiency of each cell. The panel’s surface is securely protected by double-layered 2.0 + 2.0 mm tempered glass.
The solar panel withstood a hailstorm with 25-mm hailstones and wind speeds of 23 m/s. The structure is capable of withstanding snow loads of up to 5,200 Pa and wind loads of up to 2,400 Pa. It is resistant to salt spray, ammonia, and dust, as confirmed by independent testing.
The device’s IP68 protection rating means that it is completely protected against dust ingress and can withstand brief immersion in water to a depth of up to 1 meter. Accidental contact between the electrical components and a person is prevented.
The model is certified under the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 management systems. Compliance with industry standards IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 ensures the high quality and safety of the equipment. Independent verification of compliance was conducted by TÜV Rheinland.
The device has larger dimensions of 2382 x 1134 x 30 mm and weighs only 33.5 kg.
The manufacturer offers a 12-year warranty on the parts and components of the photovoltaic module. The warranty period for maintaining linear output performance is 30 years, and at the end of this period, the panel’s power output will be no less than 87.4%. In other words, the panel’s degradation over 30 years of operation is only 12.6%.
